Colonel John Stuart Elementary

Weekly Update: February 12th

Dear families,

Our students have enjoyed the opportunity to play in the snow. A reminder to ensure students have warm winter clothing including mittens, hats, boots and snowpants. We go outside multiple times a day in keeping with scheduled breaks and curricular activites.

We want to inform you that our school will be conducting a lockdown drill this week. During the drill, students will be instructed to follow established safety protocols, and teachers will guide them through the process. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office. A  Lockdown information letter was emailed home last week.

Grade Six families are asked to mark their calendars for a French Immersion Information session at Sir Robert Borden on February 21st . Please check the What's New section on our school website for information from our School Counsellor about the grade 6 transition to Junior High.

February 14th is Valentine’s Day. Class lists were sent home. Valentine’s Day treats will be provided to each class in pre-primary-six by funds raised through the Home and School Association. Students are asked to wear red, pink, or white on Valentine’s day.

Family Bingo night is this Thursday, February 15th. Doors will open at 5:30 pm for a 6:00 pm start. Please send in the Bingo form and money ASAP so we can plan accordingly.

A reminder that there is no school on Monday, February 19th. We will be commemorating William Hall on Heritage Day.

We are looking forward to another great week of learning with our students!
